Replacement for Dahlquist DQ-30

I'm considering downsizing to a smaller home, and need recommendations for a lower profile speaker than my DQ-30s (48" tall, 17" wide, 15" depth), as long as I can keep the same bass punch for rock and soundstage for acoustic music. I have an Adcom GFA-555II and GFP-555II for amp/preamp so plenty of power. Budget is $2000 for the pair. It's been forever since I've shopped for equipment, really appreciate this forum's advice. Thanks.

 

Nothing is going to replace your Dahlquists. They have a unique sound.

How small a room would you be thinking of?

My favorite 'smallish room' setup would be Ascend Acoustics Sierra-2 (with that amazing RAAL ribbon tweeter) and maybe a five hundred dollar SVS sub if you want more bass.

There are many good small speakers on the market but it's hard to recommend when you haven't actually moved into your new home yet.
