The others I can maybe understand but why redo "Photograph"? It's perfect,

I can't understand the others either. Plus "Back Off Boogaloo" was already redone (poorly, in my opinion) on the Stop and Smell the Roses album.

You Can't Fight Lightning is worth a redo since the original was unreleased, over long and not that good.

(We're) "On the Road Again", "Show Me The Way", and "Speed of Sound" were all "done" before too. :)

I think the original turned up later on as a bonus track on the CD of Stop and Smell The Roses.

I'm in. Not a fan of the re-dos, but at least they're tagged onto the end of the album like "bonus" tracks.

For those keeping score, this will be the third time that Ringo has recorded "Back Off Boogaloo" in the studio.

It's great that he's still making music at his age, and I'm happy to hear him expressing positive energy. That being said, this sounds as generic a 21st century Ringo song as you can get. Lots of familiar elements (particularly the autotune) and small musical phrases that all seem designed to recall something else, rather than express something fresh. Maybe I'll like the "re-do" more, circa 2057.

Really enjoyed his last album, hope this new one to be as good.

I knew that the Beatles breakup would eventually lead to this ... ;)

To me Ringo always sound fresh, no matter what he do...Also, his voice is preserved exactly the same as 50+ years ago ;)

Yeah, but at least back then he was trying something fun with it by mixing in as many other Beatle references as possible (at a time when that was a novel idea). Now, it just seems like he's desperate to capture past glories.

I don't think anyone would have begrudged him doing a whole album of "re-do" collaborations, a la John Fogerty's "Wrote a Song For Everyone". Adding four of them on to the end of an album just seems sort of half-baked to me.

I actually like the Stop and Smell the Roses version of the song.

Yawn. More mid-tempo plodding and an affirmative chorus: so bored of this stuff. Something kind of exciting like Vertical Man or some of the more adventurous tracks from Choose Love would be great.

I really used to look forward to Ringo's new albums, but they all sound so flat nowadays. Maybe they always have, but I wasn't so jaded

While unenthused about the sample of the single, I remain optimistic that the album will get my toes a tapping and my face a grinning like just about all of his solo works have. Nice to see so many cool folks collaborating, as is often the case. 2 more Paul and Ringo collabs is cause for celebration for me.

    C'mon get happy!

I'd classify Give More Love as a re-do as well. A re-do of Never Without You!!

Yes! I'm totally in! Despite popular opinion, I really liked Postcards From Paradise (the album and the song). The new song sounds pretty great too. The album cover is okay, but I actually preferred that Ringo 2017 cover he posted on Facebook better. But it's okay! :goodie:

    Happy birthday Ringo as well!
