Very sad loss, terrific producer. Birthed a lot of awesome recordings. We're losing good record men too soon.

He produced Rita Coolidge's version of "We're All Alone".

Just that is enough to be lauded here. RIP.

Those Ozark Mountain Daredevils records on A&M are all gems. Also, Rick Roberts' first solo album, Windmills, bears mentioning. Some fine, old school engineering on that one.

RIP, Mr. Anderle — a man who knew real talent when he heard it.

  7. One of these things is not like the others...I wondered how he got that gig?

I agree that this is an odd assignment.

Very sad news. I'm good friends with his son Jonathan and, thanks to him, I got to meet David one night at Spaceland out in Silverlake, California. It was great. I remember we discussed how he used to know the great producer Tom Wilson. He will definitely be missed by me.

He produced two of my favorites, Judy Collins "Who Knows Where The Time Goes", and The Swimming Pool Q's eponymous 2nd LP.

The discussion between Anderle and Paul Williams, as detailed in Williams' book, "How Deep Is The Ocean?", is essential reading for any Beach Boy/Wilson/SMiLE fan.

Thank you Jose, I totally forgot about that one. I have the book. I haven't read it in years.

He's one of the people that really seemed to understand Brian and what he was all about during the Smile period. A very cool and intelligent guy. RIP
