You pretty much have the whole band right there. There's definitely a great jam going on right now...

No more Allmans … lost Duane waaay too young, kinda wild guy.
Then Berry, Woody, Butch. Slow train wreckage.

Great band I saw exactly once, in '94. LOUD. Broke muh ears.

People forget Gregg wrote most of those tunes. A bit of a shady
guy; brought it upon himself. Hell, all the misfortune was largely
self-inflicted. Came through in the music.

If you don't have all the LPs, "Dreams" is highly recommended.

And it made the top 40, as a single, too.

Don't forget Lamar and Allen Woody...If Spinal Tap can have three bassists on a song, by golly, the ABB can, too :)...and maybe the Toler Brothers, too.

Amen, Tom! Gregg was the best white blues singer, bar none!

And Gregg's ex-wife, the late Janice Blair is the sister of one of the Heartbreakers.

Didn't expect this. Grand Funk was my band before hearing Ain't Wastin' Time No More on that transistor radio, in Chicago. Before moving South, and becoming immersed in all this magical place has to offer. I never left GFR behind, in 48 years, but again, I never even thought of this... enjoy :

[IMG] So very sad to hear this news on Saturday. We had a few beers and listened to the "Brothers" music that night.
Above is one of the great albums of the last 10 years!

A late career highlight along with...[IMG]

Any Allman's enthusiast needs to own these 2 great albums.

"Shades Of Two World's" is a favourite as well.

I loved The Allman Brothers Band and was fortunate to see at least 3 excellent shows here down at The Molson Ampitheatre since 1998. That was a great venue for the Allman's; always a good time.

Loved the band since I first heard "Idelwild South" back in 1971.

I read Gregg's book "My Cross To Bear" a few years ago as well (also read the most recent bio. on The Allman Brothers Band called "One Way Out")

RIP Brother Gregg; you helped this boy appreciate the blues!

One of the greatest singers in Rock history.

Always caught my ear as a kid when playing on my little clock radio(early '70s) but, it wasn't until high school (late '70s) that a good friend of mine, David was into ABB big time as well as other great bands that helped expand my musical horizons immensely (and I'm grateful for that experience ). Next thing you know I'm tuning in and digging it (and buying ABB LPs) .I know many here have wonderful to magical concert stories/experiences and I live vicariously through those tales that are before my time. 1970? heck I was just figuring out how cool Led Zeppelin was in 3rd grade. My good friend David (we went on to be best friends by 12th grade) and I saw the Enlighten Rouges Tour at S.D. U. Open Air Amphitheater.('79/'80?) Great Show and can only imagine what all you cats experienced 10 years or so earlier . Also saw Gov. Mule for 2nd album (Dose, I think)at the Belly Up. Stood ten feet away and was like ...WOW!!! So, when I heard Warren joined ABB I KNEW they were a perfect fit. Wish I could've seen that line up oh well....I'm thankful for I did see and experience though!Thank you Greg. And thank you David for turning me on ABB (David passed away from cancer two years after we graduated H.S. )RIP Bro.

Duly noted sir. My memory can get things a bit topsy turvy . I went to GM show because he was from the current ABB at the time (That I knew of . not realizing he'd left already ) thought this was side project at the time .

I listened to this one earlier this afternoon. Many years ago I think I had this on VHS tape but it is long gone now.

But the CD sounds great. Really great to hear them playing these songs acoustically.

I enjoyed reading that. As someone who used to do a little bit of spin casting when I was young, I liked the bit about the fishing holes. :)

Within four years, The Allman Brothers Band released this amazing 'trilogy' of albums (from 1990 to 1994)

One of the best 3 album runs of that decade for sure!
