RIP Michael J. Pollard

[R.I.P.] Oscar Nominated ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ Actor Michael J. Pollard Has Passed Away

 

I remember him in Bonnie and Clyde. RIP.

 

He was great in that movie as C.W.Moss., the gang' s mechanic and mascot.

 

Enjoyed his performances in ‘Roxanne’ and ‘Scrooged’. RIP.

 

I think he had a guest spot on The Andy Griffith Show. RIP Michael.

 

Oh that's too bad... RIP

 

He was Maynard G. Krebs' cousin on THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS when Bob Denver got drafted, only to fail his physical and come back to the show, so Pollard as the replacement got the boot and was out of work. (WORK!!!!!!!)

In the time length of a blink of an eye, Warren Beatty and Pollard were co-stars on DOBIE a bunch of years before BONNIE & CLYDE.

 

He made for an interesting talk show guest.

 

Good lord, "House of 1000 Corpses" headline.
That ain't right ... he did so much more important and better work.

 

Liked him in Between the Lines, Bonnie and Clyde, Dirty Little Billy, Melvin and Howards and...

 

Yes, Pollard's portrayal of the Moss character was exceptional, which was in fact a composite of real gang members, W. D. Jones (their youthful accomplice) and Henry Methvin (a hardened criminal --- murderer --- who later betrayed Bonnie & Clyde).


Both members survived the notorious crime spree initially, with Jones living long enough to witness his depiction on the big screen, by Pollard.


When Methvin's snitching was attributed to Moss (Jones) in the film, W. D. took offense and sued.


Apparently, even old gangsters have a reputation to uphold!

 

Star Trek, too, memorably. RIP.

 

RIP Michael J. Pollard, talented actor and recall several films he was in...plus I think he did some later television work too!

 

R.I.P. Michael. I'm thinking he was in the TV show Movin' On from the 70's.

True, but this was from "Bloody Disgusting", and by their lights, this was his most important film.

 

This is the first thing I can remember seeing him in. My older brother took me to see it when I was 12.

 

"Bonk! Bonk! On the head."

 

i know it's a silly flick, but I loved him in Tango & Cash, besides Stallone and Russell were great together.

It would be nice to see if Variety or the Hollywood Reporter had articles about him. I'd search for them myself, but I am on a bus at the moment and to describe my Internet connection as "flaky" would be far too generous.
