Definitely. The Pat Dinizio Foursome solo project was his band featuring Lou Reed drummer Tony "Thunder" Smith, bassist JJ Burnel of The Stranglers and jazz legend Sonny Fortune on sax. The tour I saw them on in support of Pat's solo album "Songs And Sounds" didn't include Sonny.

Would purchase in a heartbeat. They could use the proceeds to benefit Pat's charity.

A final "Reens" album with Jim and Dennis singing would be fine with me as well. Would be nice to hear more Pat songs.

That would be nice to hear. Jim Babjak's side project Buzzed Meg was pretty cool.

I called into Sirius XM feedback a few weeks ago before Pat even died and the host saw that I was from Jersey and asked me if I was eithera Bruce or a Bob Jovi fan and I said neither, that the Smithereens were the best Jersey band. He actually agreed with me and said they should have been bigger than they were.

I have a double CD That includes "Songs And Sounds" and "God Save The Smithereens". I will have to dig out Songs and Sounds again. I really like the Pat Dinizio Foursome's version of "A World Apart"

Not sure how I missed this sad announcement. Very sad. There were numerous songs by them that I loved.

I have that cd also. Signed by the whole band except Pat unfortunately. He already had his arm injury and couldn’t sign autographs. I regret not getting a pic with him at least. Bummer. He was a cool dude when I talked to him.

Working my way through the catalogue in remembrance of Pat DiNizio, and just finished "Green Thoughts" which has held up quite well. Not as power punchy as the debut even with Don Dixon producing and a couple of powerful opening tracks (Only a Memory and House We Used to Live in), but a fine batch of songs and the moodier ones sound better than ever. Love the title track and If The Sun Doesn't Shine. Totally forgot that Del Shannon sang background on The World We Know. Damn.

Listened to this on Amazan today. The preview sounds great. I may have to pick it up.. Not sure it had a physical release though.

Yes......seems like it's out of print at retail sites, but it looks like you can get it from the Smithereens official store:

Anyone heard if any other acts have been added to the tribute concert. Any rumors out there?

Here's a few rare (I guess no one probably has these) Smithereens recordings I have. I got them from a dude(I think named Jim bone) I sat next to at the first concert of theirs I saw, which this first one is from.
The song "Any Other Way" was on the self titled Pat Dinizio CD later in the year and then the live greatest hits CD, a little bit differently each time. I saw a recent video of them doing this more like how this first arrangement was. One of the best things they ever did. The main differences are Dennis' drum parts and some lyrics. Also just energy.

This is Pat and Jim Ellison from Material Issue's band The Wild Bunch (The Wild Bunch Revue). Evidently there's no recordings of any of this out there, I just read. It's live from a few places. Severo is on the first set of stuff.
