Robin's last name was perfect for the close but outsider looking in to the extreme wealthy. Or was it?

I knew Davy previously and I was invited to take part in the taping. The show appeared on cable TV and hopefully there’s a recording of it somewhere.

I Googled and searched for that brilliant SNL bit “Lifestyles of the Relatives of the Rich and Famous” and it’s nowhere to be found. It was during the one season with Martin Short, who played some distant relative of Kate Hepburn selling hot dogs from a cart in NYC. Chris Guest played Leach. So funny.

That bit and Robin’s original show were part of the strange and wonderful 80s pop culture of my childhood.

I’ll echo what others have said...he seemed at least 20-years older than he actually was in the 80s. Wow.

I thought he was in his 60s on the show. Seems like a lifetime ago when that show was on the air.

As a big wrestling fan back then, I remember Robin at WrestleMania IV.

He was in an episode of"Garfield and Friends" as an animated version of himself. It was a parody of his TV show. I remember him saying "I can't stop talking in this annoying voice", among other things. Hilarious stuff!

Well it did give him the opportunity to interview all the porn stars each year at the AEE show in January. And he dearly seemed to enjoy that.
