Very sad news. Definitely one of my favourite writers at Stereophile and a fine musician. Rest in peace, Robert.

So did I! They are still the speakers I use. I liked his writing. The article says a brief battle with cancer, so hopefully he didn't suffer much.

  10. Dang. I always looked forward to his reviews because it covered stuff that was reasonably priced. What a Shame.

I owe Robert J. Reina big time for the Paradigm Studio Reference 20 v.2’s and the Epos ELS-3’s I still listen to. He had an inspiring and true genius for writing about so-called affordable components, especially speakers, without a trace of high-end condescension.

Oh no! I always enjoyed his reviews, and found that I had very similar taste when listening to some of his favorite pieces. He is the one that got me interested in listening to my beloved Nola Contenders.

Thank you Robert - and all the best on your next adventure.

Sad to read this, didn't know he had cancer or any other illness. Loved his reviews and certainly would purchase based on his recommendations.

I am certainly sorry the man is dead, or that he had to deal with cancer (I know about that one intimately)
    God Bless him
But I do not understand why this remembrances thread is in "Audio Hardware"

Because this is where I posted it. If a Gort wants to move it to Off-Topic that is fine with me

I would think it's OK, as RJR was a well-known reviewer of audio hardware, so folks that 'knew' him would see it here.
