Fergie from Black-Eyed Peas starred in an episode of "Mr. Belvedere" back in 1986. Cool episode too if you like old vocal group music -- Kevin joins a band that does Four Lads tunes.

Not rock and roll, but the Bing Crosby - David Bowie duet on
the Little Drummer Boy is quite bizarre.

So you agree there was plagiarism - you just disagree on which song Harrison stole! :D

National Lampoon's Beat the Meatles issue had George making an album called Lifting Material from the World with songs like My Sweet Happy Birthday, My Sweet He's So Fine, My Sweet...

It's old hat now, but I remember being knocked out when I first learned (and heard) Stephane Grappelli's violin on the original/alt. version of Wish You Were Here.

After getting kicked out of Steely Dan, singer David Palmer co-wrote "Jazzman" with Carole King, a song that peaked on the U. S. pop charts higher than any song Walter Becker and Donald Fagen ever wrote.

Despite achieving fame as singer/songwriters, Harry Nilsson, Joan Baez, Richie Havens, and Judy Collins all had their biggest hits with covers.

Nick Drake was relatively unheard of during his brief life, but no doubt millions have heard Pink Moon (albeit a small snippet without learning his name).
    Quite an anomaly.

Templeman was a very prolific producer -- he's also responsible for several early Van Morrison albums. How about a very young Sly Stone producing the Beau Brummels?

He only took the chord progressions from "Oh Happy Day." Not only can a progression not be copyrighted, but "Oh Happy Day" is a traditional gospel song in the public domain, arranged by Edwin Hawkins.

Marvelous rendition! So much for all the naysayers who have nothing good to say about this song despite its inventive melody and intricate chord progressions. If Patti likes it, that gives it all the street cred it needs.

I don't know anything about copyright but it looks like everything can be copyrighted, due to The Greed. Very short snippets of songs that originally appeared on TV shows were so often replaced by generic music (WKRP, Freaks & Geeks) that I guess The Corporation got rid of "fair use".

After touring his rock'n'roll horror shows, Alice Cooper admittedly would go home and listen to the Carpenters and the Archies.
Leon Russell wrote the orchestral arrangements and played piano on a 1967 easy listening album called Rhapsodies for Young Lovers by the Midnight String Quartet.
Grace Slick was a big fan of John Denver.
John Sebastian played harmonica on albums by both the Doors and the Kingston Trio.

stephen stills was rejected form the monkees because he had bad teeth.

stills and neil young both play on monkees songs, as do a whole lot of other people.

stills played guitar on timothy leary's album, and hendrix played bass.

stills plays guitar on bill withers 'ain't no sunshine".

stills sings background vocals on humble pie's "30 days in the hole".
