I would agree as he was always a solo artist on record and he never had a stable band or really a band band.

 

Johnny Ace is not in the Hall.

 

Bo will be on the 1987 Ballot

With the Comets it's definitely the whole group, not just Bill. One of the tightest and swingin'-est r'n'r groups ever, they had the crazy beat that made teen-agers wreck cinemas. Not to mention it was them who introduced the music to the world. They made records years before any of the other rockers on the list.

Saw them live around 2000, they still swung harder than anyone else.

I like your idea here. It's something I considered doing before, but never got around to.

Some suggestions (if you have not already considered them).

1) Stay with the basic format. Eligibility begins 25 years after first release. This will require some research.

2) Elect the same number of inductees in any given year that the RRHOF did. If your goal is to ultimately compare the two it should end up with the same number at the end. I would have more nominees when the induction Group is larger, a minimum of 15 when smaller.

3) I would automatically carry over to the next ballot the top 3-4 vote-getters that do not get in.

4) You might want to have a "rolling committee" to help with nominations. This will help prevent any notions of favoritism.

5). I like the idea of a 15-20 year eligibility run.

6) Might want to call it something different to avoid the inevitable "blank" isn't rock debate.
