Ringo was also in CAVEMAN(1981). Not really a bad film, just that the novelty wears off quick. But he did just as well as anyone else in that film, and more convincing than his wife was, that's for sure:love:

I just remembered that Greg Allman had a convincing small role in RUSH, as a small town drug lord. He only has one or two lines, but his menace is palpable.

I guess Ringo looked the part better than Barbara! Considering both the male and female had MUCH body HAIR...No pin-up chicks in those days! Well...not to us modern men...or maybe not!

"The Manchurian Candidate," is an excellent movie. "Ironweed," with Streep, Nicholson and Waits is another great choice.

Dwight Yoakam isn't a "rock" star, but has performed very admirably in several movies including, "Sling Blade."

How about Lyle Lovett in 'The Player'. Not a huge role, but...

Gene Simmons in the Tom Selleck movie "Runaway". It's a typical cheesy sci-fi film circa 1984, but he turns in a good performance.

Thanks for jogging my memory; typical for the genre at the time, but Simmons saves the movie(and steals it); Selleck looked to me like a fish out of(outta?)water. And he was.

John Doe has been in dozens of films, including "The Good Girl", "Boogie Nights" and "Georgia". Small parts, generally, but he is usually quite good.

Rick Springfield "Hard To Hold". Yes, I actually enjoyed this film.

Not a rock star but country star "Dwight Yokam" in the Billy Bob Thorton Flick "Slingblade". I liked that movie even though most people I talk to say it sucked. I thought Yokam played a great redneck a**hole in it. I might add that Billy Bob Thorton was great as well.

Rex Smith in Sooner Or Later. I always kind of liked his crooner-type vocals even though this movie was kind of a typical predictable teen romance sort of movie. But is he an actor or musician, hmmmm? Well I guess a musician as the record was released first.

Which also featured Peter Murphy, another rock star, although I'm not sure if we are counting musical performances as acting. Still, Peter's performance is highly theatrical.
