The first musician to perform nude on stage was Arthur Brown. The first incident was at the infamous concert in Sicily.

Actually The Trip was released in August of 67 so the Monkees pre-date that by 3 1/2 months roughly. That is if the Flag did not release it prior. What tune?I am going to my soundtrack of the movie.

The Grateful Dead were certainly the first (only?) act to have the Wall of Sound.

Buddy Holly, generally viewed as one of the first to have strings on a Rock and Roll record as well as the first double-tracking of vocals and guitar on a Rock and Roll record.

Wasn't that song cut off the Concert in Central Park soundtrack because some idiot jumped on stage and messed it up?

  8. Wasn't Sgt Pepper the first album with printed lyrics?

The first #1 hit on the first Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1958 was "Poor Little Fool" by Ricky Nelson.

The first major hit in the UK to feature a drum machine was "Saved by the Bell" by Robin Gibb in 1969.

My research suggests the soundtrack to The Trip was released in early September '67 & Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones LTD. was released in November '67. (But perhaps I'm wrong about that one; I'm not a Monkees fan.)

Me either that one really Blew My Mind. What the hell either/or right. After all we weren't there. In reality (probably) none of us were there during any of these occurrences so we just go off a historical facts or here say.Obviously nothing is in concrete but it is still fun.As long as we respect each others belief.Oh yeah my research suggests 5-9-67 for Monkees&August 67 for The Trip.I did actually see The Trip but it early 68.Peace.

That sounds about right. Pretty spooky when you consider the subject of the song and a deranged fan.:yikes:

One of the most impressive ever

The Beatles were the first and only artists ever to occupy the first 5 numbers on the Billboard HOT 100

The first rock artist, I think. A jazz trumpeter named Lee Morgan was shot and killed by his ex-wife during a set in 1972.

Was Bowie the first rock artist to wear a dress on an album cover? Here in the US, that was not the cover we got for 'The Man Who Sold The World.' It wasn't until many years later that I saw the original (UK?) cover.
