I believe the gentleman’s name is Tim Ryan. He was/is a manufacturer’s representative based in San Diego. If he is still in business I would suggest caution. Locally, Tim had a reputation as being quicker to receive than to give.

Interesting. I am not buying but his room was pretty nice sounding.

I thought that the sound in the room with the Rethm speakers (Maarga was the model) was absolutely outstanding. They were being driven by a 20 watt tube amp. Fabulous sound with great depth. Cost under $7K which is not much compared to the “big boys”.

Also listened to the Carver Crimson 275 stereo tube amp. Sounded outstanding and is a total bargain at $2500.

Other than that (in my view only) I thought that the Vandersteen room was the best sound at the show. Would love to hear some Allman Brothers through those babies.

Had my first ever listen to Magico speakers and was frankly disappointed. Found them very fatiguing.

Headphone wise the Mr. Speakers Ether Flow model 2s were good but probably not worth replacing the model 1 with.

Just a few random personal observations which given through 67 year old ears.

If you get confused listen to the music play.

I have a pair of Daedalus Audio Argos speakers. Components may come and go, but the Argos will be in my system until I'm gone.

Musical surroundings were there and had 2 Clearaudio turntables in their room, neither with a Hana on them.
The chat was that the new Hana ML cartridges are a big step up from the existing ones. Price $1200. Available in November.
Hard for me personally to get a feel for a cartridge in a room where none of the equipment was familiar. Didn’t see any Hana product anywhere unfortunately.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping that someone will have one at the Capital Audiofest in early November but my guess is it'll still be too early.
