Does anyone know the sound quality on Gasoline Alley & Every Picture?

I have Gasoline Alley and I really like the sound of it.

However, when it arrived it was covered in paper pulp and needed a good clean. (GZvinyl)
It also took a couple of plays to sound its best so I guess there was more gunk in the grooves!
Also the cover is a blurry version of the original.

I'm sounding negative but I really like it now compared to any CD I've heard and an original owned by a friend.

My US and Canadian originals of Every Picture are superb. Can’t go wrong.

    not the question posed!

i have the whole set and feel that it sounds very good. nothing compared to UK originals, however.

I have the MFSL, maybe it's my turntable but it sounds uneven.

silver label? feedback hasn't been super positive about it so that doesn't surprise me.

If it’s the same that were released in the recent box set, I thought they were awful.

This box set came out in 2014.

Single releases came out in May 2015 under the Back to Black campaign of Universal Music.

All you really need are the first four on original red Mercury labels. Not hard to find IMO.
