Rod Stewart's new album...the Tv Advertisement

Just got my first...of many, I'm afraid...viewings of the Tv advert for "It Had To Be You...The Great American Songbook", and I'm sure the Great Blues Legends...and the Gershwin Bros....are spinning in their graves.

Blechhhhhhh ! It's all come to this.

Rod, we hardly knew ye.

I'm far more interested in the new Mercury anthology that's due out next month. Supposedly, it will have Rod's first four solo albums in their entirety as well as every other studio recording he did for that label. If the mastering is up to par, that will be a real keeper.

 

Let's face it, he just doesn't want to rock anymore.

 

But Rod Stewart's new album will most likely be aired by Music of Your Life.

 

Or "Your Hit Parade !" ! I can see him now, doing a duet with Snooky Lanson on the "Shrimp Boat Song" !

 

I'd forgotten about ol' Snooky.
