Featured in Pitchfork's Holiday guide, I'm completely blown away by RokBlok.

RokBlok - A Different Spin on Vinyl

A gimmick, to be sure, I'm completely mesmerized by this thing. A Roomba for your records.

    Discuss..?

I wonder if it will ruin the record. All it says is "diamond tipped cartridge". I might use it on records I don't care about.

They don't call the VW Soundwagon the "Vinyl Killer" or the "Record Killer" for nothing.

Hysterical. I may buy one for the novelty. Could see using it in an art installation.

What's the tracking force? No way I would put this thing anywhere near my records!

I don't have LPs, but that sounds like it can turn those grooves. Don't want!

The mighty Techmoan gives it a go.

That guy bought the company for 500k bones! He needs to be put on suicide watch.

Just finished watching Techmoan's video. Wow and flutter and sound quality is utterly dreadful and look at how the heavy tracking force of the ceramic cartridge can REALLY gouge the surface, rendering the damage on to the record permanently.

Tl;dr - It's like the evil, infamous Crosley type player, only worse if you can imagine it.

This is an absolute vinyl holocaust. I hope nobody is stupid enough to actually buy one of these.

While I doubt the claims that Crosley turntables will "ruin records," this shows visually the amount of damage it's doing!

As much as I hate it, there is a market for this kind of stuff. The same people who buy vinyl as a lifestyle product or fashion statement will love it. Hey, My mom thought it was cool.

Hopefully no one, but people listen to their Crosleys with the built-in speaker and are happy nonetheless. The true crime here is the price. Last I checked it was $99. We can give tables like the Cruiser and the LP60 a pass, because ultimately they're doing the best they can at the given price point. This is laughable.

Wow. I didn't think that thing was going to be any good, but I didn't think it would be that bad. That's completely unacceptable. The VW bus sounds better.

Just watched the video. OUCH!!! FAR worse than I thought. He barely got it to track the record correctly. I bet the inventor is laughing all the way to the bank with his 500K!

Why anybody would want to put the speaker on the player so it could get you dizzy just listening to it is beyond me.

Saw the inventor on shark tank. After watching the grind-the-grooves-to-dust demonstration, the moment one of the sharks offered $500K for the Company, we both shouted to take the money and run, which he smartly did.

One would assume it doesn’t slow down as it gets toward the center of the record, unless the battery starts dying.
