I loved the Replacements show but they didn't have their former guitarists either. I realize that Mick Taylor is alive and relatively well.

The Stones have more money than they know what to do with. They could use it in their fireplaces to heat their homes at this point, and hardly put a dent in their finances. So why not hire Taylor once again and give the fans what they want? They know this would be a highlight during the show for many, it doesn't detract from the regulars doing their thing for the rest of the concert, and I'm sure Mick T. could use the extra funds. It also makes for good press. So why the hangup?

With time running out, and we know time waits for no one ( :sigh: huh? ), fans should be expecting the best. If this were to happen, even belatedly, the Stones would win (once again), Mr. Taylor wins, and above all, the fans win. So who doesn't like happy endings?

[IMG] Atlanta June 9th ... nosebleed seats, so at the limit of my zoom ... amazing performer. Incredible show. Lousy acoustics, but that was secondary that night.

Bringing Bobby Keys back from the dead, just for this tour, would've been a very impressive feat.

Karl Denson and Tim Ries are doing quite well. Keith is having some senior moments, sure. In Columbus it mattered a lot, in Atlanta it didn't IMO. I don't regret going to either show.

Glad Karl Denson is getting a nice paycheck but playing this stuff seems a waste of his talent really.

Pulled the trigger on two tix for the show in Detroit, 1st row in the upper deck. I saw Paul McCartney from about the same section a few years ago and the sound was pretty good surprisingly... but baseball stadiums make for terrible concert venues. Haven't seen the Stones since 1981 at the Pontiac Silverdome. That show wasn't that great and I actually vowed I would never pay money to see them again. Just broke a 34 year old promise to myself.

If 1981 was your last Stones show, you'll enjoy this one. My first one was in 1981, the 1989 and 1994(the last one in New Orleans) blew the doors off that one.

Perhaps Taylor and Wood could take on the guitar playing duties and let Keith join in when it suits him.

The shows are almost all 2 hours and 5 minutes or so. They've been coming on between 9:25 and 9:30 pm.

Just got back from the KC show, excellent as expected. I think I witnessed something of a rarity: They played "Kansas City" during the show, not just a snippet, the whole song. I'm no Stones expert, but I've followed them pretty closely over the years, and I am not aware of any other performances of this during modern times. Mick introduced it by saying it was a song they used to open their blues shows with in 1963. This extended the show to approx 2 hours 10 minutes.
