A record shop in Rotterdam is selling some of the records from the mono box separately for € 22,90. One of them was the much wanted Between The Buttons.

Sorry since there's been so many posts on this thread... do we know why the covers are missing the Decca logo? (ie. not exact copies of the original)

Whatever the reasoning it isn't consistent as the covers from the 2010 (stereo/mono) box all had Decca logos.

Anyone done track comparisons for everything yet? Compared to previous reissues?

I'm asking this in various threads on this subject:
The mono vinyl box has some copies of Stray Cats missing the first disc and instead have another Beggars Banquet.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue with the manufacturer?

I've gotten the replacement, am more than happy now:)

Has anyone checked the number of their vinyl boxes? I'd be curious who has the highest numbers. Mine is 1503/10000.

Just opened #3916/10000. I have the proper vinyl in the Stray Cats on a quick look. Looking forward to listening to the set.

you'll enjoy it, the vinyl is very well done and I think the sound is favorable to originals with a more restrained true to the source tape sound where the originals have more distortion and volume and appear more in your face...but if you crank these new ones, they will test your system:)

Awesome! I read really good things about the set. The last time I heard many of the albums, it was the old remastered cassettes via a pair of Koss Portapros. Not to date myself. It should be a fun session.

when I got my replacement from ABKCO they asked what my number was so it could help them track the problem with the Stray Cats release.

As far as being a reissue, I would say that this set it 90% positive.
You could with some right argue the need of the repetitions, but then again the band's UK/US catalog is a different beast compared to The Beatles. Despite some strange choices mix/edit-wise on some tracks, the main interest lies in the 3 albums that were given dedicated mono mixes: Aftermath (UK), Between The Buttons (UK) and Their Satanic Majesties Request. Aftermath has a couple of early fades, but despite this, those 3 albums are well presented.
The cover reproductions are a head-scratcher. Why on earth they look like cheap reproductions on some albums, is beyond me. The odd mono rarity here and there on the box, that hasn't been reissued before (eg. Sympathy For The Devil) is for purists. The focus lies on those 3 mid-sixties albums. Oh, and also worth mentioning the first 2 UK albums re-released after decades of being out-of-print.

they really look orange-y on No.2 doncha think? lol
Majesties without 3d is like a regular lp. It's not. :)
book should have been hardback and written by someone else. otherwise it's all good. covers have good paper stock but bad repro of the artwork. oh well.

I agree. Sound quality is overall exceptional, though.

So, any sign yet of the stand-alone mono releases yet?. The box didn't interest me bur a proper mono TSMR would be great.

What exactly are the differences in the US and UK Mono TSMR mixes?

Also, the mono Ruby Tuesday is faster and the same is with Sittin' On A Fence.

Still hope for individual releases of the mono remasters. I'm only interested in three or four albums off the box set.

    No difference in mixes.

Some UK pressings used the mono mix, while others used a fold-down of the stereo.

How can you tell if it's a fold-down? Is the 3d cover a true mono?

Beginning of The Lantern. Three bells is mono, two bells is stereo fold-down.

I also noticed that the true mono mix of In Another Land seems to run a tiny bit faster.

Weren't these supposed to be out by now??
Ive been itching for a UK MONO Aftermath

Also.. weren't the 45s supposed to get a box set release too?
I understand they were an added bonus to the mono box.
