    According to,the same NME article that quoted Keith's comments on various Beatle related topics, the article staes the Stones are recording an album and that it may be a covers album.

    Let's say Mick or Keith or both Glimmer Twins ring you up and say: " Hey buddy what songs would you like us to record? ( if any) LOL, which songs would you tell em to get working on??

    I'll go first;

    First off; don't make them studio versions - record them live in front of an audiance, even if it's as small as a bunch of studio employees.

    1 Love Man by Otis Redding

    2.Piece of My Heart - Janis Joplin

    3. I Can't Dance - Gram Parsons

    4.Dont Let Me Down - Beatles

    5- Alright Now - Free

    Okay, but they need to put some effort into them if they are going to do them live.

    Too often in recent years, their cover versions performed live sound very bare-bones, half-hearted, jokey, and don't bring much new/different to the table. I never need to hear them do "Love Train", "Bob Wills Is Still The King", or "Corrina Corrina" ever again. For that matter, even with as much effort as they put into it, "Like A Rolling Stone" paled in comparison to Dylan's original studio and Dylan's live performances.

    Would love to hear Keith do "Thousand Dollar Wedding" on vocals - but I'm not sure he could remember all those words. Maybe he could do "Love Hurts" as a duet if Emmylou or somebody female helps him out.

    Even better, with its Bo Diddley beat, the follow up single, "Get Me To The World On Time". Or, at minimum, just do a live "Please Go Home" and I'd be happy.

    Absolutely on the effort point. When I wrote that I was channeling Carol and Little Queenie from Ya Ya's and Just My Imagination , from Still Life.

    Wait a minute -- I thought they were already working on a blues album (by definition, usually covers)?

    Not necessarily. The Stones have written blues songs that aren't cover tunes.
