Yes i seem to recall he said it was motown influenced? Sly Stone has a very early cut (pre Family Stone) which is an exact lift of the riff. I assume the Stones had to be first?

2120 - has a great Wyman riff and Brian's distinctive harp stylings.
Empty Heart- Really cool guitar sound and licks, love Keith's backing vocals. RS journalist Chet Flippo put forward this song (amongst others including i think Wild Horses) in the late 70's to China's communist government in an attempt to show the Stones as a positive influence in a bid to gain access to tour the country.
Around and Around - Made a cool impression on me so i played it in my first band. I still dig the Stones version but not as i had 32 years ago.
If You Need Me - I always enjoyed Mick's vocal and the delicate picking. Very soul/gospel for me.
Confessin' the Blues - Nice cover but they did better.

What you say is true but all the evidence also points to minute numbers. The head of Stones On Decca knows it is by far the rarest UK Stones Lp ever issued which includes all US and Japanese exports as well. Ah the German Got Live, I have a circa 69' Horzu copy but sold and cant easily find a 67' copy and most can't tell the difference. I found the vinyl thicker, spine much wider and each sides total playing time displayed on the labels. What did you make of the US mono Got Live in comparison?

Once London changed the label (1977), all the plants that pressed its records used the label, but some of them (e.g., CBS) used older materials. I think Bestway received newly created materials, which is why many of the Bestway reissues are different from the original 45 versions.

My information on that post was based on the lack of any promo copy from the denizens of 45cat. Maybe there's one on Discogs, but that site is an organizational nightmare with little oversight (I've found at least two fake entries for ABBA).

I've since found that London started using the orange swirl earlier than "Tell Me," so an orange swirl promo of "Tell Me" would be an original.

    IAON?

Both Brian and Keith. Keith does the chordal picking, Brian the power chords/riff like motif on 12 string.

Ok so may the only reason its not be if it has the SN prefix?

I thought it may be both together but if so i was not sure who did each part so did not want to print it as fact. I can tell you that if you were playing live one guitarist can basically do both parts pretty easily.

I believe it comes from the same tape. The UK mastering might be a bit punchier, but I have never compared both versions directly. The 1967 Hör Zu shouldn’t be difficult to find. That album was a hit in Germany. Awful mastering, though. Try eBay Germany.

I know but it is such a bore asking all the questions as the sellers are pretty clueless if they already do not know which photo to take to show it is the 1st issue.
I assume second issue was 69 and tons more of them about for sure??? When did the Horzu label end?

Are we talking about Got Live? Stereo?

Did the mastering change quite a bit over the years? My Teldec copy sounds great...at least in terms of mastering.

I understood the question was about UK mono vs US mono.
For me, compared to any of them, the Teldec Hör Zu stereo has little depth and the ping pong channel separation (vocals on one side, instruments on the other) is not exactly subtle.

I still have the VHS and also like all the vintage group and baby pictures. N.b. In the Euro version entirely different vintage pics were inserted into TIOMS than in the regular film. Love the guitar version and just listen to Sarah Dash & the Winos on Keefs live cd too!

I was born in 68' and my Stones fanaticism enabled me to easily form timeline references and put things into context as regards the near shock of certain releases and just where the songs were coming from. If for a moment i could return in time with a first generation fan, the "new" release i would choose to hear amongst and with them would be the debut lp of April 1964. For the charts and white pop market this Was Surely The New Testament!

    Re: Off The Hook
The Stones were later sued or to be sued and either payed up or i actually think lost future royalties on the song if not credits on cd covers.
I think it relates to the blues guitar intro being directly lifted.

Absolutely, would not have it any other way! Plus always suss to the competition and their release dates also. It took me years to get into great detail and coherence on this like i had lived at the time.
