I like the episode where she quit that job after her weasely boss wouldn't let her change her work hours to spend more time with her family.

I remember that episode. I also liked how it showed a working-class family with the dynamics between parents and children and the children themselves. It seemed real, or like it could be real. They had real family problems.

Family Matters started like that before it became The Wacky Urkel Show.

AMC/HBO/Netflix etc.. seem to have no issues coming up with great ideas that find an audience.

It's only network shows that are basically none sense.

I have to agree. I listened to her interview with Marc Maron last year and she was all over the damn map.

    She turned into Barney Fife.

EDIT: I now see I'm not the first or even second person in this thread to make that observation.

that dvd is great as they left some cut scenes/outtakes in a few of the episodes and one of the cut scenes helps the episode make more sense

it was revealed in the shows final episode that things like that never happened. they were made up for a book Roseanne was writing to try and cope with the death of dan.

in reality what happened is Roseanne was done with the show after season 8. hence the Halloween episode that season being titled "the final chapter". that was going to be the last season. the original plan was a spinoff of some sorts, possible Darlene, and for the rest of the cast to make guest appearances. that plan was scraped and instead the network insisted on a season 9. when season 9 was done filming Roseanne then tried to make a spinoff of her own character, not sure why she was the title character of the show, but that fell through and that was the end. supposedly the spinoff was going to fix the issues with season 9 and have everything make sense. hopefully this is what the new revival will do

After the show was canceled, I used to wish the show had gotten a tenth season to right the wrongs of the ninth so the show could go out on a high note. With the right writing and execution, this could end up being what I wished for.

Regarding Dan still being alive. They could have Dan find Roseanne's book and he skips to the end and finds out that Roseanne killed him off. Meaning it was part of the book and it did not happen. Dan could ask her, "Rosie, why did you kill me off in your book?" They could have a good laugh about that. Also ,as a wink to the audience about the final season, Roseanne could ask Dan what he thought of the book. Dan could say that "it was pretty good but it kind of fell apart at the end." just like the show.

She would even do the snorting and touching her nose and belt when she's about to say something really delusional.

 Really? I just remember she got really annoying and un-relatably kooky and neurotic.

I wonder how the reboot will look. I love the old videotape format.

I'm sure it will be in HD and thus shot on film.

As long as the sets look close to the old ones, I will be happy.

I see Sarah Chalke is going to be in the cast, but not as a Becky. I would love for them to switch Beckys every episode.

Here's a photo from the first table read. It's cool to see part of the rebuilt set.
