The pre-order price will go down and the mention of the 1999 remaster is possibly an error. This is Amazon. After all they since then released flat transfers in the 2012 boxset. I would wait until an official announcement is made.
I started a new thread exclusively for the deluxe /superdeluxe edition: Roxy Music debut album Deluxe/Superdeluxe Edition coming in February
There’s a short video on the French listing for the SDE but I can’t seem to link to it. Search for the product code: B077Y965S9
I guess the 136 page book is what makes the 3 CD/1 DVD edition so expensive - even so, it seems overpriced.
Don't know if that works for you: https://www.amazon.fr/Roxy-Music-li...TF8&qid=1512664055&sr=8-1&keywords=B077Y965S9
Jethro Tull are releasing editions of their albums with even more audio content and 100+ page books for a fraction of that price!
No, that’s the problem I had - the link redirects you to .uk Does this work?: http://www.amazon.fr/Roxy-Music-coffret-1DVD-limitée/dp/B077Y965S9
You guys need to opt out of VigLink or use something like Ghostery to stop re-direction. This is the video link: https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/C1-mM7gVbeS.mp4
So, we're just NEVER going to get a 'Complete Bryan Ferry Studio Recordings' box set to match the Roxy one, are we? Just stuck with the 1999 HDCD remasters forever now?
The original Polydor discs work and are cheap. Depending on your preferences you could mix and match Atlantic North America or Polydor Europe.
A few of the Ferry solo albums have been reissued with excellent-sounding flat transfers on SHM-SACD/CD.
That was a mixed bag if memory serves. While The Bride Stripped Bare was excellent, Boys and Girls and Let’s Stick Together were both very brittle and not at all pleasant.
The original US Reprise/EG These Foolish Things has excellent sound. Unless a newer remaster is ridiculously good, I'm happy for now.
Unsurprisingly, my order from the Dutch retailer Plato has been cancelled with them citing an incorrect price given to them by their supplier.
I have the first 3 Bryan Ferry albums in the sacd and also platinum mini sleeve cds. They are in my opinion a great product and worth tracking down if you are a fan of those albums.
Are there more SHM-SACDs of Bryan Ferry (sonically seen) really better than all the releases (at cd) before? Or just these two being mentionned by Plan9 and The Panda?
To answer my own question: at another Bryan Ferry thread I read some people are also loving the album 'Let's Stick Together' at SHM-SACD. Bryan Ferry 6 SHM-SACD releases. April 2015. I will purchase now three of these mentionned Ferry SACDs at Amazon.co.uk. Will be a nice Christmas present for me, myself and I
