This can't be true. No SW stereo remix?

No, the SHM-SACD/CD has a different, slightly cleaner, flat transfer.

Agreed, has no business containing the words "Super" and "Deluxe" beside each other with a DVD-Video containing the surround mixes. If they make the 5.1 mix available as a flac download for purchasers then that's a different story, but I've only heard of that happening once (with Anathema's Weather Systems)

Do they mean the SW remixed stereo is in Dolby Ac3?

As long as they're doing a 12" by 12" box, why not also do a vinyl edition that costs slightly more?

As mentioned in the other thread, if you go to the French Amazon site and search for product code B077Y965S9 for the SDE, there’s a short promo video for the set. It’s the second image of 2, after the front cover.

Sorry, can’t link to it directly.

Yes! It's a series of pictures from the cover photoshoot with Kari-Ann Muller. Nice.

I can’t understand that. I’d expect a new mastering at the very least, and the analogue master which was released in the box set is far superior. £172 is far too expensive.

marmil It's such a long story...

Were the LPs in the box ever issued separately?

Not that I know. I suppose this new vinyl version's gonna used the 1999 master.

What's the best version around? I only have an old made in Portugal LP which sounds very good.

So, barring the extras, if you want the album in hi-res, you've only got 5.1 options?
Will there be a HD download?

Steve Wilson DID made a stereo mix but they didn't used it for this box (information from his facebookpage).
The 12" Ladytron RSD release has the stereomix so this will be a collector's item.
I'm so pleased this box is finally coming out.

On Spotify is now : Virginia plain (John Peel radio session) GREAT !!

Unbelievable. The 1999 Roxy / Ferry CDs are everywhere used and sell for like, 99p. They are also IMO inferior to most and many other versions.

What an overpriced shambles, and another insult to people who pay for, and don’t steal, music.

Roxy were not the most prolific of bands in terms of b sides and studio out takes. I think there's just the one b side that was released already on the box set

I'm really surprised they didn't use the stereo mix SW did half a decade ago, what a fumble! I can't really imagine a reason why they decided not to include it here. Sorry if this was discussed in another thread, but this 1999 mix they are using for this box set is it the same mix as the one included on the Complete Studio Recordings black box set released years ago? The SW stereo mix won't even be available in the DVD, shame. I could bet the SW stereo mix will be released next year as a single disc standalone release (like some Jethro Tull stereo remixes), but that doesn't justify the mammoth price on the set. This could easily be the biggest mess up this year as far as reissues go. Maybe they can still correct this somehow, I hope and wish they can.

The Numberer both written by Andy Mackay were the only two b-sides recorded around the time of this album but they had eight original b-sides that were released during their lifetime. There were also two live tracks as well. Two alternate versions of tracks from Manifesto. Not a huge amount but more than one.
