I've got a nice Lamay/Jay Purple (I think 78). No distortion on Michelle, nice sounding cut

The UK 2 box EMI version is the best bang for the buck IMO.

fmfxray373 Capitol LPs in the 70s were pretty good.

I just bought the 2014 Mono vinyl online from Walmart free store pick up for $17.84. You can use paypal.

    Same price on Amazon US.

Picked one up last week after reading that they are OOP and will probably soon be unavailable. Sounds very good although I do prefer the US tracks and sequencing.

There are better sounding pressings, of course, but I'd get the Mono 2014 reissue. It sounds great and it's cheap

Besides the mono cd box I have this one. On my equipment it sounds just fine. Could be intersting to know how those swedish ones are regarded?

2 box UK for stereo, 2014 reissue for mono, early 80s rainbow label for the US version (my favorite). Stay away from the 2012 stereo reissue... You don't want the 87 remix...

It was made from UK stampers...you have all the matrix information engraved as on an UK pressing, including the HTM.

I love the 1981 Odeon pressing - that's the one I have. I compared it with some different UK pressings and still prefer the Odeon...

    I have the YEX 178 - 6 / YEX 179 - 5 UK pressing from 1980 (I think), and it's absolutely fine. I'd say the 2014 mono is better, but mono wasn't an option.

Those two links point to the same 7th pressing however, are these not cut by Harry T. Moss then?

I just ordered Revolver mono LP also from Wal-Mart free pick-up. About $24. My Rubber Soul took just about 2 days to get to my store.

Thanks! Yes, HTM on side A. On side B only MÅ (or A)? Also on side A. Took a listen to it, to me it seems like that side B sounds thinner - less bottom/more treble. Now I wonder why?

Side A was cut much later. Side B was cut in 1965 or so and is a tube cut.

A tube cut with less bottom and more treble ? Really ?

    I would think the opposite.

    I second that.

Oops...doesn't want mono. I'd go with a '70s or early '80s UK EMI two-box stereo then.

If you can get a Mono Masters I'd go for it, it sounds sublime.
