Besides the Sgt. Pepper snippet of party conversation and high frequency tone for the dogs of the UK, and the James Gang Yer Album A & B side messages of "Turn Me Over" and "Play Me Again", what runout groove messages are out there for owners of manual turntables to enjoy?

On the second Muppet Show LP at the end of side 2 they lock up the theater with Fozzy locked inside. the last bit goes "Kermit? Anybody? Its dark in here..."then the runout is Fozzy going "Help" over and over.

Edit button seems to have gone bye, bye.

I mis-remembered! There is the sound of a toilet flushing and then something spoken along the lines of "There are no special stereo effects used on this record." with the runout repeating "Yes there are"

It disappears after about 15 minutes or so. The result of a troll problem that happened years ago.

On side two of Penthouse and Pavement by Heaven 17, the last song "We going to live for a very long time" ends with a continuous loop of "for a very long time".

Hawkwind - In Search of Space (U.A. label, 1970) - side one has a 'space sound' lock groove very similar to the ending of Moodies Threshold Of A Dream, side 2

Actually the Classic repressings have the run out groove - at least the mono does (I need to check the stereo pressing), and I know the Sell Out MCA two-fer vinyl (along with A Quick One) has it. Hope that helps (and I would assume the original UK pressing has it)

Thanks, but we're talking about runout grooves, not deadwax. It's what you can hear if you have a manual turntable, and when the record is over the stylus tracks out to the label area and plays a "hidden" message.

    Thanks though! :righton:

No.That's only on the CD-right between "Running Down A Dream"(last song on side 1 of LP/cassette) and "I'd Feel A Whole Lot Better"(first on side 2),something like 'Hello CD listeners,at this point, anyone listening to te LP or cassette, has to get up & turn it over,so we'll wait a few seconds...OK.Here's side 2".

I can think of two, that I read about first, and then confirmed:

    Captain & Tennille-Muskrat Love-the 45 has a lockgroove of the last note.
Ringo Starr-Out In The Street-from Ringo The 4th.Track ends with 'street sounds',leading into the deadwax.Whoever cut the CD didn't know, and the track has a longer end on the CD.
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts--don't remember which, but one of her B-sides has a lockgroove.I remember she told someone that whenever she came across the record on a jukebox, she'd play it,then watch to see how long the owner would let it go....

Beck's Western Harvest Field By Moonlight EP contains a runoff groove filled with weird noise.
