The new-and-improved archival DSD known as "DSD Wide" (why don't they just say DSD 2.0) is actually 8-bit, right? I think only the old archival DSD was 1-bit. Then again, I could be wrong. I've also heard that all editing/mixing tools for DSD use PCM internally, as you can only do accurate math with absolute, not offset/delta/relative, numbers. I could be wrong on that too. I'm just repeating what I have heard.
