apparently this legendary live performance was remixed and remastered from the three tracks reels for the 2000 Box Set.

However, the single CD version has not been upgraded, and features the same mix from the late 1980s.

Has anyone compared the new remix to the old transfer? Is the new one much better?

I have them both. I'll have to give them another listen but I don't recall there being a significant difference. The original CD always sounded pretty good for an early 60s live recording.

thanks, i'd be interested in hearing your views on the differences between the two mixes.

it's from a 3 track source, so the difference may be minimal, but try and compare the soundstage, panning, reverb, clarity, eq, compression (digital reverb is BAD, which I think they used on the 80s mix) etc.

    thanks in advance!
