PoE isn't nearly as highly regarded as the others. Desert Plains is great though, and I enjoy the version of Heading Out to the Highway from Priest Live!

Although I do like By Numbers, I probably listen to it the least out of the three.

That’s from memory. Do I have that right? Regardless, JTTP, in the middle of anything, is most wretched.

    Meddle
    Obscured By Clouds
    Dark Side Of The Moon

Obscured By Clouds being a (relatively) rush-recorded soundtrack, which nevertheless hangs together as an album pretty well. A slight diversion from the arc connecting Meddle to Dark Side, but I dig it on its own merits.

Yeah I would agree. Not that I dislike the album but what came before and after are in a different league.

    - - - - "Fear of Music"
    - "Remain in Light"

"Fear of Music" has a few great songs ("Life During Wartime") but I find a lot of them to be tentative and somewhat thin in melody and arrangement compared to the consistently great ones on "More Songs About Buildings & Food" and "Remain in Light."

I love them all, but I can see why some don't rate WL/WH as highly as the 1st & 3rd albums.. it is a challenging listen.

At a stretch, there's also one from Blur

    Parklife
    The Great Escape
    Blur

I think The Great Escape is a slight step down from Parklife, but they certainly lift again with the switch in style on Blur.

The Jam's fabulous debut In the City was followed by This is the Modern World which was rushed and made you think that the Jam might not be as awesome as first thought. Then came the fantastic All Mod Cons and redemption.

IMO, Who Are You is the weakest release of the 70's AND 80's. Yes, I am saying Face Dances & It's Hard are better
