They could always work the character into a sketch. Stefan started in a sketch before he became a regular in Weekend Update. Why not the reverse?

  4. So I wonder what Miley will do to ensure that her publicity machine keeps rolling? My money is on an "accidental" wardrobe malfunction. She gets the headlines and SNL gets to break a taboo, something they haven't done since maybe the sketch when the word ***** was continually uttered about 20 years ago. free publicity for everyone!

Her other appearance was bringing the "old timey instruments" out to Noel and the girl from the band in "New Case Member or Arcade Fire".

I thought it was a pretty decent episode. Cecily is good on WU, but I hope it doesn't mean less of her in sketches, cause I think she's awesome. I like the "Girls" sketch, particularly Vanessa Bayer's wacky hairdo's playing the Zosia Mamet character.

6 new cast members is a lot, especially with 4 of the 5 being short haired white dudes. It will take me some time to get to know which is which. The one who did the "veteran comic" during WU at least has longer, frizzy hair and so is more easily distinguishable.

Drunk Uncle was funny. And I still get a kick out of the ex-porn stars Brookie and ? hawking luxury goods. They've always got some good lines.

Someone earlier said they need to add a black woman to the cast, and that would probably be a good idea. The cast should be a toolbox. You don't have all flathead screwdrivers in your toolbox. If they need to portray a black woman in a sketch, who do they use? And has there ever been an Asian man or woman as part of the cast?

I hope not. But she could appear in a sketch at a party, not just on WU.

I don't know, I seem to remember the Britney Spears episode fondly, and Miley has a lot more time in front of a camera than Brit had.

Was she in any skits? Didn't I read that she's leaving for a Michaels' produced sitcom? :shake: She's a total babe, but I don't do sitcoms, they grate on my nerves.

Well, technically, Nasim is an "Asian" woman, though I know that's not what you meant. As for black women, I wonder who they got to be in the background as Keenan's wife in the e-meth skit?

Yeah, I saw her, but don't know her.

  10. She could go old school and do the show high.

  11. I think she actually did a pretty credible job last time she was on, and with the material she's got to work with this time around I'm somewhat optimistic that it'll be a decent show.

Nasim is Iranian. She was born in Tehran. I think she's gorgeous and I wished they used her more. She is hilarious as Kim Kardashian.

I knew she was Persian (that just sounds so much sexier than "Iranian"), I was just having some fun with the fact that Iran is in Asia. And I agree, they should use her more.

I too think Nasim is gorgeous and hope that they use her more this year. But they probably won't. It occurs to me that perhaps she's featured as much as she wants to be.

Your quote above this original statement says it came from me but I did not write that.

Sorry about that. I must have been attempting to reply to multiple quotes in one post and messed up the editing. I certainly didn't mean to do that.

No problem. I only mentioned it because I did not want to be associated with what that statement said.

Actually, she was VERY good in the French Cafe dance skit she did, which is one of my all time favorite
bits, ever, on SNL. Unfortunately, NBC removed it from YouTube, but I did find another link
if you're interested in seeing it...........hilarious!

That story is several months old. She was going to leave SNL if that show was picked up by NBC for this season but it wasn't. Now Fox is going to do it but Nasim is no longer involved.

OK show last night. Miley is obnoxious, but they used her well.

I think Miley did fine. She knows no matter what she does half the audience is going to hate her and is able to understand that and adapt to the situation.

    Big night for Vanessa.
