It's the same start time it's always been. I'm confused.

Nobody hosted more than one show last season, but there were a couple of hosts (Melissa McCarthy, Louis C.K.) who had hosted the previous season.

The show can only get better! Keep chiseling away!

I hear you. In fact, now that I have a kid and it's lights out at 8 p.m. and up and at 'em at 7 a.m. it's very likely that I will miss this entire season of SNL! :shake:

I'm taking my subjective worldview to it's illogical extreme. I.e. I can't stay up past 11:30 anymore, so it's SNL's fault.

Seriously, I even have trouble watching TIVOed episodes, as the kid doesn't go to bed early enough for adult TV time.

    That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure.

I just DVD-r every show. I can't stay up that late anymore and I love blasting through the commercials.

See above posts. I was blaming SNL for my inability to stay up late like I used to.

Hey, what's wrong with an old fart being a musical guest once in a while? I don't even know any teens that watch the show which is why I don't understand all the teeny bopper no-talents that they've had on the last couple of years. Well, at least maybe Foo Fighters will make an appearance after their new album drops in November. Book The Empty Hearts SNL!

SNL was made for dvr'ing- I can get it down to under 30 minutes when I burn through the music guests, opening monologue and bail on sketches that are going nowhere or recurring bits that weren't funny the first time

I agree. I will stay out and let your negative posts rule the thread.

I'm being a smart ass because there isn't actually a new season to comment on yet.

That said, changes in my life circumstances have made it difficult to watch the show for the past two seasons. I'm lucky to see half the episodes, when I used to watch them diligently.

They need to get rid of Aidy Bryant. She's add's nothing to the show and isn't funny.

Hmm. I couldn't disagree more. She's consistently one of the strongest performers on the show. This could really be her breakout year.

Meh. You're not a real SNL fanboy until you drop a Pamela Stephenson reference....

I watch it mostly for Kate McKinnon. Keenan can crack me up sometimes too. Weekend Update is awful. They have a whole week to prepare that and it doesn't measure up to the least inspired Daily Show.

I like Kate. Cecily is talented and versatile. Aidy is funny at times. I also occasionally laugh at Keenan ("sheeeeah!"). I like "Drunk Uncle" and "Jebodiah Atkinson" but those have both been run into the ground already. Not much else to get excited about the past few seasons. I don't like the news guy. I don't understand the digital shorts. The game shows are tiresome. They need a stronger male cast member.

Hoping for "Dyke & Fats" feature film spin-off.

They went with a different former cast member named Bill.

The October 11 show will be hosted by Bill Hader with musical guest Hozier.

I agree, Dan C! And by "breakout year" you mean a cavalcade of characters who all sound as if they hail from the antebellum South and who very distinctly enunciate each and every syllable, right?
