I think Jost is going to grow into the news anchor slot. I would agree he seemed a little green last year.

Love Cecily Strong, Andy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Tarran Killan the best.

Looking forward to the new season.

Might not be in this thread much, as I can't stand debating what's funny. If I laughed, it was funny to me. If someone else didn't get it, that's kind of sad, but I give zero ****s about it.

Also, can't stand it when trolls jump in just to lament the Belushi era, etc.

It's been announced that Darrell Hammond will replace Don Pardo as announcer beginning September 27th.

When Don missed a few eps a couple of years ago, Hammond filled in by imitating Pardo (most people didn't even notice), I wonder if he'll be doing the same thing now or just use his own voice...

Whoa. You win. Had to go straight to Google for that one.

I'm fascinated by that horrific season (can't turn away from such unbelievable trainwreck television), and there always seems to be something else to learn about it. Like that someone named Ann Risley was a cast member, and that she was even more of a failure in a season that defines failure.

Agree. That just wouldn't be right. It is great that they hired someone with such a long connection to the show, however. I hope to see Hammond occasionally performing on camera again as well. Not sure if that will happen, but it would be nice with the right material.

That's kinda like SNL former cast-member purgatory, isn't it?

  13. I would be nice to see him but he may not even be there on show night. Pardo taped his intros in Arizona for years, Hammond could do them ahead of time as well. BTW, Chris Parnell also impersonated Pardo once or twice, including the night of his own return to the show.

It's probably a nice paycheck for 10 minutes of work a week.

  15. If a certain B.J. Clinton makes the news during a shooting week, they'll be set.

Eh, I've had enough of Stefan, though I'm sure that is what we'll get. I'd rather Bill do one of his other characters, like Veteran Reporter Herb Welch or the Italian talk show host, Vinny Vedecci. Maybe even the alien sports talk show host, Greg.

I don't think he will. Pardo didn't pre-record on a regular basis until a few years ago. Lorne Michaels had insisted on flying him in almost every week to do live intros long after that made any practical sense.

Another Vincent Price Halloween special would be more than welcome.

Doing Stefan without Seth Myers will not work imho.

Is there any doubt about Seth showing up for this episode?

Lorne keeps everyone on a short leash ever since Adam Sandler & Mike Myers left and made hit movies without him.

Do you remember when they did that sketch about the guy who plays Mr. Belvedere fan club? Remember when that one guy said he wanted to wear the guy who plays Mr. Belvedere's skin?

    That was awesome.
