Maria was one of my first childhood crushes.

Congrats and Godspeed, Ms. Manzano. And thank you!

44 years talking to puppets... I can relate

In all seriousness, a good memory of mine was calling a telethon in the 70s for tickets to sesame street live in NYC and actually getting to talk to Maria, live in person. What a trip for a kid to talk to a real live tv star!

And even though I was really too old to "learn" from Sesame Street, (born 1964) I enjoyed her work, and I too had a crush on her!

I love that woman too. :) I hope she fully comprehends the positive impact she's had on so many generations.

When I was little and would heard the song "Uptown" by the Crystals, I always imagined that it was Maria singing it.
