Just watched this 10 part police drama series and thought it was very good. The premise is nothing new - a police cover-up, but the interesting part is how the story is told and the characters involved. Veena Sud is the creator, who also produced The Killing and Cold Case. It isn't perfect. Early on, the narrative can be a little slow and drawn out at times. Tighter editing resulting in shorter episodes would have helped. However, things do pick up in the back half of the series, with lots of twists and turns, culminating in a surprising ending. Spoiler The result of the trial is hard to take, all the more so because it reflects reality all too well! The two lead charterers, KJ and Fish, worked well together and had good chemistry. If they do another season, I'm sure those two will team up again. I give it 8/10.
Loved it. It was a bit slow but I just sort of connected with it. I don't know about you but the police officers in question kind of reminded me of The Shield??
I finished this last night. I was dissapointed with the trial sequence. Spoiler they didn’t have Jablonski’s cell phone records to show who he called? They didn’t bother to get DNA evidence from under Nadine’s fingernails?
Unfortunately, Netflix will not be renewing this for another season. As it was pretty much a self-contained season, it doesn't hurt so much, I guess. ‘Seven Seconds’ Not Returning for Season 2 at Netflix
I could think of a few ways to make the ending more satisfying but that's already been done a million times. There might be a few faults with this series but the acting wasn't one of them. Outstanding acting the whole way round.
Just finished the show and loved it although I found it grim and depressing. I was disappointed and somewhat angry at the conclusion but I guess that's the way it goes in life sometimes. It's too bad that KJ and Fish won't be back for another season. It seems they were modeled a bit like Linden and Holder from The Killing.
