No definitive information to date, just various postings via Shelby's Facebook page. I was posting this under the Shelby Appreciation thread, but thought it deserved it's own thread!

This one was posted from today!

    #tbt to Frankville, Alabama.

Here's a picture of Shelby and Teddy Thompson in the studio earlier this month.

And this was from the same date as the Teddy picture dated September 11, with the caption:

the last day of tracking on the #sissyrecord today.

This was posted back in May, but work continued after they decided it was not completed.

That's great that they're doing an album together. Look forward to hearing it.

I wonder if this is original, covers, or a mix. Making some possibly erroneous deductions from the pic above, I wonder if we have Not Dark Yet (Dylan), Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain (Willie Nelson), Lungs (Townes), Silver Wings (Merle Haggard)....?

  12. Anything with Shelby Lynne's name on it is an automatic purchase for me. I'm sure this one's going to be great.

Very interesting batch of songs. They score points from me for including a Jessi Colter tune! Too bad they didn't cover a Bobbie Gentry number (which I'd take in place of the Cobain track)!

am i the only one who absolutely loved the critically maligned "love, shelby"?

what a wonderful wonderful record, and with the 3 bonus tracks it is a real stunner., not a dud in the whole bunch.

I love that album too -- I believe Shelby does as well and mentioned her hopes of reissuing it at some point. I have the promo with bonus tracks and it is an incredible album. I will say without them and the modified track listing, it is somewhat disappointing.

The picture in #7 listed 12 tracks, but the article only lists 10 tracks. I hope those articles are misinformed and the album will include all 12 tracks. I hope they won't be iTunes exclusives or some other BS...

I saw them together about 2-3 years ago at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass on the smallest stage early in the day and the blend of their voices together was beautiful, the love they had for each other and getting the chance to play together came across to the audience. Looking forward to this.

Not Dark Yet is up on Spotify, sounds great.
