I'm looking for a pair of speaker stands for my Pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers (small bookshelf speakers). I need them about 6" off the floor, and obviously don't need anything substantial at all since they are so small and light, and I don't have much room to work with. Can anyone make any recommendations?

Looking for something along the lines of what's going on here:

I'm curious why you want to place such small speakers 6" off the floor... Typically a speaker that size should be about 24-28" off the floor.

Ikea used to(?) have a folding set of speaker stands - light & cheap. Would allow exactly what's shown in the photo.

BTW what a hip setup: Thorens(?), Dynaco(?), big Missions! Brubeck LP!

I agree. If they are really small, 6" woofers, etc, then they should be at least on 20" stands. If they are larger, with maybe a 10" woofer, then milk crates are king. If he wants them really low for some reason, stacking bricks allows that.

I suppose that if I liked the sound of the speakers enough to listen to them every day, I would spend the money to set them up in a way so that they performed at their potential. I know sound anchors makes some models with a low height, and I do recall some more simple versions with a bit of a slant, so, for me, this is the only manufacturer that offers this sort of stand. I've had their stands under a set of speakers, and thought they were very solid, and probably the go-to speaker stand if you want to mass load and solidly connect the speaker to the floor. Some stands strive for isolation. An option.

I'm in a tiny, tiny room, with not a lot of space. If they were 20" or more off the floor, they'd both be in front of windows.

Those are Ikea folding stands in your photograph. >$20 IIRC.

That's an AR XA, manual turntable, and I think a Pioneer tube amp just the style of the knobs. The gadget on the left may be a dynamic expander, but I really have no idea! This is a clean setup, uncluttered, simple, and should be great sounding.

I think I know what the knife on the cabinet is for. You stick that in the gadget slot, and it does something? :tsk: :goodie:
