Two obvious choices: Todd Rundgren - frighteningly talented man (virtuoso guitarist/ace producer-engineer, supreme melodicst, witty lyricist, pretty good voice, too). Had the whole package, but.....has never been anything more than a cult artist. Plus, he had a serious manager (Albert Grossman) behind him. Why isn't he a household name? Laura Nyro - incredible voice/great songwriter. Other people had hits with her songs, yet LN herself never got beyond cultdom. Why?
