Small walk-in closet I converted. Built shelves by hand. Albums on left, CDs on right.

I have about 2 cubes worth of stuff elsewhere in the house but, still, plenty of room to grow. In fact, I grabbed about half a cube (30-ish) worth of LPs just yesterday (not yet cleaned and on the shelf).

Two of them are the Rhino cd collections from a few years back. There's also vol 4. of the Dick's Pick's series that is vinyl to the right of them.

HA! No not really. There have been a few occasions where I bought something here quickly without checking first and ended up with a multiple, but in generally I buy mostly online so I have the time to check first. As cluttered as it is, the collection is pretty organized.

Speaking of organization, I have had similar conversations with my wife:

Sorry no pics.. My current LP collection is in my bedroom. thirteen units across by six tall. Nine on one wall holding both the Rock Lp (aboout 1,800 LP albums) and the Jazz Lps (about 1,400 LP labums) (My shelving is Sauder TV stands. similar to the Ikea in opening size, but stronger individual dual cubbyhole units stacked four high, with similar but less deep units the top two tiers. All screwed together for safety. This is over a ton of vinyls!
The final four units across are in the closet hidden by folding doors and hold the Classical (about 1,300 LPs) (I used to be a clothes horse, but quit that game when i got fat in my 50's, so the closet was pretty empty anyway.)
My CDs are in short hallways. So the front door hall has a Leslie Dame 1500 on one side with my Rock and Classical CD. A 1000 Leslie Dame has the Jazz in the little hall just before the bathroom door.
My DVDs are in tall (over 7' tall) homemade shelving stuck behind/to each side wall of my magnepan speakers.

In a average size one bedroom apartment I had to find the best solutions to keeping the media at hand yet out of the way.
So basically in my living room are NO noticeable media. But it is all close by.
The kitchen in THIS apartment is not well designed for any blank wall space at all. My last kitchen I kept a lot of LPs in there.

well it's impossible (without a panoramic camera!) to capture it all - there's a load more music in the bedroom, but this is a good chunk of it...

I've posted this elsewhere, but here is my wall of vinyl. The room is a second floor bedroom dedicated to music playback. Our living room downstairs has a separate 5.1 home theater system.

Very nice. Are those cabinets something you can buy commercially?

Ikea Expedit. They are out of production now and replaced with the Kallax series. There is a thread elsewhere here on SH forums discussing them.

A little disappointed for the lack of plastic outer sleeves. You guys better have all rice paper for the inner sleeves. :)
