Some of these bending shelves are kinda scarey. Think Ill just build shelves as a wall.

Since I posted here (towards the beginning of the thread) I have changed out my Ikea Expidit Birch for Ikea Kallax Gloss White and added more storage space by using two 4x4 plus two 2x2 units stacked on top.

Love seeing people’s Impulse! collection all together instead of in the artist catalogs.

    Great set up

    Thank you...

The only reason for Impulse, Music Matters, etc being together is I have done some major system upgrades since August, and I am going through my best mastered recordings to listen for changes as I get everything dialed in. This will continue for a while because I am upgrading my tonearm soon. Once I am settled on it all (speaker position, sub tuning, TT setup, etc), I will probably integrate everything back together by artist, with the expensive boutique recordings mixed in with everything else. For me it's more about the music, and less about the collections. My classical collection is already organized that way (by composer), except for some special collections I keep together (like the complete Arrau Edition on Philips from 1983).

Every once in a while, I will reorg my classical for particular listening binges I go on. For example, grouping recordings together for a listening survey of a particular genre (e.g. symphonies, string quartets, or solo piano music, etc).

I posted some pictures on this thread when the shelving was first delivered, almost two years ago.

The room is very cozy now with artwork on the walls, a new leather chair and my great uncle's handmade chest for a coffee table. It's a small space, but it's the best environment that I've ever had for enjoying music.

Some room left. I have a smaller shelf on the back wall, and there are some that never get played and can go into storage. But for the most part you are correct. Sooner or later I will have a dilemma and might have to use another room for some storage.

It's all over the place....from the 40's to current day. I have a lot of dance records.....I'd guess about 40% falls into that category.
