This won't scale to a larger collection, but I really like the look.

  5. This was my record setup before I moved out of San Francisco. I'll be working on my new music library soon and I will use these cabinets again along with several more I have. These were IKEA's BONDE which they discontinued about five years ago in the States (5 units are shown here) . I love them because they look semi-custom and nicely finished. And you can use doors if you wish. High, deep and very solid.

Lordy, with all of these pics we'll be somewhere up in the kiloton range before long.

I just have one reinforced, shuttered shelf I built in the hall closet that holds about 170 LPs.

So many nice setups here. My vinyl are stuck in a small closet (with shelves) behind sliding glass mirror doors. I'd take a picture but afraid I may blind myself. Need to speak to the boss about possible expansion. jazdoc, exceptional.

Nice B&W speakers. I'm rockin' some '90's-era DM302's in the bedroom system.
Also, nice bird watching over the precious platters.

I'm sorta in trouble for owning the whole family room. Next house needs a music room or something. I'm running out of space.

This looks awesome, and just got wife approved! Thanks for the link. I have some on their way. Hmmm, what to put in them? I have a feeling something by the Flaming Lips and Jack White will end up on display.

They are regular black metal frames from Michael's crafts store, and I bought round mats cut for records from an ebay seller (scroll down here: http://www.wholesaleposterframes.com/product_info3.php) Michael's and Hobby Lobby sells the mats much cheaper but I could never find any. The cut is centered so you just put the record in, put the mat around it (the cut is beveled to hold the record against the glass), then stack a full cardboard spacer behind that to keep it tight, add the backing. I used a laser level to get my frames straight and even with that you futz with them for a couple weeks because the hangers on the back of the frames are not in a set position and need to be adjusted- so your nails could me dead straight and the frames will still go up sloppy unless you hang the actual frame on 2 nails instead of using the center clips provided.
