I bought a nice looking, but non-playing Technics SL-23 for $7 at a local flea-market. After bringing it back from the dead, I put my Shure M94 on and it sounds quite good most of the time. There are some minor tracking and inner-groove issues here and there, which may or may not be previous-owner damage to the albums. But I've used this stylus for a while now and am pretty sure it's time for a new one. So I'm wondering if the Technics would do better with a different cartridge (under $100) or should I just stick with the M94 and get a new stylus (and is there a certain one to get?). Thanks for any help!
