Maxwell's Silver Hammer. A jolly, rollicking number, about a vicious serial killer.

Transcendental Meditation is by the Beach Boys.

The Beatles and the Beach Boys performed Tracendental Meditation together during their trip to India. I don't know the specifics, but I always assumed they wrote it together at that time. I have the recording on a Beatles boot. It sounds like some "around the campfire" thing recorded with a portable recorder. It is pretty fun! I added it to my list just to be "cute".

"Piggy in the Middle??" Great tune! Not quite on par with "I Must Be in Love" or "Cheese & Onions". :D

That album (The Rutles) is, when you take a look at it musically, lyrically, and at the brilliance of the way each song is crafted, can stand along side almost all of the original output of the Beatles. Anyway, I think it does. It's kind of a lost Beatles album. "Naturally!"

A correction to my own post. The song that the Beatles performed with the Beach Boys in India was "Spiritual Regeneration/Happy Birthday" and NOT "Trancendental Meditation". Also, the only Beach Boy on the trip was Mike Love, and the Happy Birthday part of the song was for him.

Anyway, it is a very silly Beatles song indeed...

I will have to side with Jimbo and give my number one vote to Maxwell's Silver Hammer - I always find morbid songs done in an uptempo way sort of cute :D

Number two goes to All Together Now which until last year would have had my prime slot - sort of Monty Python quality about it.

    Bang, bang - Andrew

I don't think anyone has yet mentioned it, but "Her Majesty" is a very silly song indeed.
