Inspired by another thread I was wondering which old timers can still hack it- Russell Mael of Sparks can still hit the tricky notes...he is 65 in this clip...

I posted this in another thread that kinda died out, maybe it is better here. 76-year-old David Freiberg offers up one of the most robust vocals I ever heard anyone over 60 deliver, let alone 75. I mean, he hits it outta the ballpark here. All the people in the tiny audience who were yapping during the first verse are in complete, stunned silence by the end of the song. I almost like Freiberg doing Buffy St. Marie's "Codeine" as an old man better than a young man (he used to sing it in the 60's with Quicksilver Messenger Service); I can believe this as the warning of a decadent addict who managed to survive to old age. He seems to be having a lot of fun here, too.

Van Morrison is a way more supple and powerful singer now than he was in the 1980s. 1981 seems to have been a turning point and he was (for him, anyway) weak of voice for 15 years or so.

68 here; will be 70 in about a month.
Doesn't move like his age, either.
