I'm trying to find the Beastie Boys video to "Lee Majors Come Again" to share with this thread but it seems to have disappeared (probably because of the Six Million footage it used)

I can't read that without thinking of 40 Year Old Virgin. "Is that the Six Million Dollar Man's boss??"

Richard Anderson guest starred on the Big Valley.

He probably needs to be re-capped - you know they used those old PIO caps on him.

Like many others, I also had the SMDM action figure with the bionic eye you could look through. When I outgrew action figures, my brother, next door neighbor and I set them all up along a brick wall outside of the house and threw darts at them, shot them with BB and pellet guns, stuck firecrackers (and M-80s) in them and watched them get destroyed. We had many action figures (different G.I. Joes, Superheroes, Little Green Army Men, Stretch Armstrong, and a few others I am forgetting.)

My older brother had one. Didn't his arm have a rubber skin you could peel back to access his bionics? I recall a spaceship that he could plug into (to recharge?). A long time ago, so I may be mixing up action figures of the era.

Yes there was a rocket ship. I had that and some extra bionic arms and legs.

The Six Million Dollar Man started out with 2 TV Movies before the actual TV Series began. Darren McGavin played Oscar Goldman in the first movie. The second movie had Richard Anderson but it was kind of strange, almost a James Bond parody. I don't really care for either of the TV movies.

I bought the entire Series Box in 2010 when it was first released in the USA. It was one of the last big shows of that time to receive a DVD release. The Box has a neat feature in that when you lift up the lid, the voiceover from the opening credits 'theme' plays. "Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive....."

I also met Lee Majors as a 9 year old around the summer of 1975 when he appeared at the grand opening of a Toys R Us store in Roseville, MI and got to shake his hand and receive a nice glossy black n white photo of him. The line was all the way outside the store. A nice Aunt took me and 2 cousins, it was our favorite show at the time.

Yeah, I had that too! And I remember the Bigfoot episodes being a true Television Event in school.

Sad to say, I watched a few episodes recently on MeTV (or whatever they call it now), and they really dragged...my kids liked it, though.

I'm looking inside the DVD box now and it says 3 pilots? I guess they really wanted this show to get picked up! Very cool that you got to meet him. I had a similar experience meeting Lou Ferrigno at a Detroit Auto show when The Hulk was hot on TV.
