A new 7 inch put in their career spanning set doesn't necessarily mean there's a new album...it could have just been a one off or they intended to work together again but things will fall through.

I hope it's a new album but not going to get my hopes up yet. I got my box set today and can't wait to dive in over the weekend.

Kinda silly to release a career spanning box set only to come out with a new album shortly after.

Maybe my favorite group to come out of the 90's, so hell yeah I'm excited.

I guess this is why the DVD never came out.

Seriously though, easily the most-missed band for me. Rarely missed a show.

I was right up front a so many Wild Flag shows that I felt as though I had to tell Carrie that I wasn't a stalker.

Exciting news! I thought they went out on top - "The Woods" is easily my favorite SK album. Hope they can pick up where they left off!

Record store in Atlanta was given this as well (exit 108 is Sleater-Kinney road in Olympia).

I really enjoyed All Hands on the Bad One but haven't heard any other S-K. Where would one go from there?

Jan 20th may also be the embargo date before they can officially announce any reunion activity before at Coachella. They usually drop their lineup the 2nd or 3rd week of the month.

S-K and St. Vincent would be a very cool double bill in 2015 since their are close friends. Not that I see it happening.

I know it's a tired SH.tv cliche to answer your question with "all of them" however in this case I'd say it's true as they haven't released a bad album. Their sound has changed over the years but every release was a winner.

Possibly all tied together to a record release. 1/20 is a Tuesday, for what it's worth.

I would suggest Dig Me Out. A little grittier than Hands, but god, those kids could play.

Awesome news about a new album!

I wish I had sprung for the special edition box set earlier -- 7 records for $125 is a steal these days. Black vinyl is cool, too, though.

One Beat (the next one) is my favorite, but DIg Me Out and Call the Doctor are also great.

My vote would go to The Woods...if you can stand the sound of it.

If they go back to having listenable sound, I'm in. But if it sounds like The Woods...:shake:

The music is so good it doesn't matter what the sound is. Even if it were a DR 1, I'd still love it.

No argument on the music. It's up there with their best.

I have to agree with you. Though I like the music, the harsh production/mastering really puts me off there.
Definitely, Dig Me Out is the way to for a S-K novice, a killer album from start to finish.
