I do like the limited edition cover more than the standard one.

And not for nothing, but its listed as a 2 lp release (both on the limited split and standard green version) on the Third Man website.

Well maybe thats a big occasion there at yr flat, but here in America, 4/20, be it date or time, means something entirely different.

    I don't understand. It's Hitler's birthday and everyone's having a great joke?

hmmm the closest store that has the split is too far to make today could go tomorrow as I will actually be closer to it in my regular plans but wonder what the chances of it still being there are.

Er, now I can't tell if you are joking or not. But 04/20 has a much different cultural significance in America. I think this may be one of those difference because of the day/month and month/day discrepancy in formats across the Atlantic, but 04/20 in America is a day highly enjoyed by enthusiasts of a certain substance recently legalized in a handful of states.

    It's 20/04 though? I've just checked. I still don't understand. What substance?

Well it is more than Hitler's birthday you know?

This is centered around a cult band called Sleep.
Its actually a fairly interesting band story if u care to read up on it.
The other thing u may want to read up on is the term "4-20" and its meaning within the US stoner culture.
Guessing its not real well known in the UK, and theres nothing wrong with that.

As someone already mentioned, the price is set back to $30 on TMR. I ordered myself a copy $35 with shipping. My LRS is selling the LPs for $50. I guess there is the variant disc plus alternate artwork. But yeah, had to pass on that today.

    Stoner culture? Drugs?

I’m very glad drugs are illegal in Britain and not rampant as they are in Trump’s America.

I see that Third Man is handling the vinyl release for this and is already on Discogs for ridiculous amounts of money. I dont see it listed on the TMR website though, unless I am missing something. Anyone have any other vinyl info?

It appears that not all the Puritans left England back in the 17th century.

Good to hear drugs are not a problem in Britain.
Now all you have to do is get rid of the alcoholism and vicious racism there and it'd truly be paradise on Earth much like North Korea.

You gotta work on your troll game Rory, its weak.

Could we focus on the new Sleep album and quit bitching about the Hitler and weed implications? Sleep hasn’t put out an album in 20 years. That’s what’s important here (at least to me).

am I the only one who finds it a bit more worrysome that someone would see 4/20 and think hitler's birthday straight off? who knows hitlers birthday by heart?

Well he's either 80 years old or trolling us.
But Shifter's right, the band and this new music is what we should be focusing on, absolutely.

It's trolling, clearly now. I just wish I hadn't taken his initial post at face value. I violated rule #1 about trolls and their feeding habits.

Anyway. I hope my comments earlier about the album aren't dampening the spirits. I'm super stoked to hear the new record! I probably won't until I get home tonight and listen through Spotify. While I'm absolutely sure the band thought this would be a cool little way to roll out the surprise, I'm just frustrated that it means so few fans are going to get their hands on a copy until much later.
