Who's ready for some Sly & The Family Stone in vintage quad sound?

I'm in, I love vintage quad.

 

If the 2-channel program uses the mono single mixes for the tracks that were in fake stereo on the original LP, this thing would be just about perfect

 

I don't see where it mentions this will be a quad release?

 

I recall hearing strangeness and doing my SHF research to find out why, but Quad and SACD don't happen here.

This was released as a quad album back in the day, and is one of the most requested quad titles. But you're right, it hasn't been 100% confirmed yet.

 

Please forgive me if there is already a thread about this. A search did not produce any result.

Amazon.com is listing this title as being released on September 18, 2015.

Audio Fidelity's web site does not mention anything. Has Amazon jumped the gun on this announcement?

I for one think it's great news but I really hope we get the original Quad mixes on a third layer.

Who else is excited by this news? I hope Steve will have a chance to come and talk about working on this project.

 

The 2007 remix / remaster by Vic Anesini breathed new life into the digital version of this iconic album.
My vinyl quad is an interesting listen, even through a 2 ch. setup.
To hear a true quad mix, not to mention a Hoffman stereo layer seems almost more than I dare wish for.

That has always been one album that deeply frustrates me, coming as it did before at LEAST "Family Affair". I'd love to see it re-released with that crucial missing piece.

Awesome! I have a needle drop of the quad lp. It'll be nice to hear as intended. There are definitely some differences compared to the stereo mixes.
