Quad in the left and rights, mono coming out the center, and stereo coming out the 7.1 middle channels.

    Seriously, mono and quad.

Except for the late 60s/early 70s, this is the best time to be a Sly Stone fan.

I vote mono too. The stereo mixes are easily available.

I don't have my list handy right now,but I know a few of the mono singles were omitted from the box set...most of them were included either on the box set or as bonus tracks on the individual
albums. I know the list is very short for the ones that did not make the cut.
Put me down for the mono mixes also.....great idea!!! And I'm searching for that list right now.....

"Fun" would be making it's first CD appearance in it's original mono mix if Steve goes the mono route for this release....
All the other tracks on "Greatest Hits" are available in mono on CD as bonus tracks on the remastered CD's or on the "Higher" box set.

That's what I thought - we already have the mono singles, save for "Fun". And the reason we don't have "Fun" MAY be because the master is lost.

A winner, I think! Quad most likely too! AF is on a roll! 4.0, baby!

It's a greatest hits album, and the hits were in mono, so. . . mono. Also, specifically in this case the mono mixes are generally terrific and different enough from the more readily available stereo mixes to be worth tracking down. The stereo 'M'Lady' is fantastic for hearing just how all those different parts interlock, but the mono mix is the one that tears the roof off.

I vote for mono, since that's the way the singles were originally.

Mono all the way! The mono single mixes were the hits and the way Sylvester intended them to be heard. The stereo mixes are readily available. This would give those who don't want to shell out for the Higher set the chance to have the mono mixes on a single disc. This is a classic collection!

Just in case somebody knows quite a few of those mono single mixes are also on the single disc version of Higher.

My promo MONO 45 of "Hot Fun In The Summertime" votes for the MONO and Quad for the SACD.

I vote for the MONO and Quad for the SACD.

I also vote for SONY to please allow Steve and Audio Fidelity to break the usual rule of no bonus tracks and allow us the addition of the brilliant MONO single mix of "Family Affair"!

You asking that question here is like the guy who walks into his neighbourhood pub and asks his friends, 'My wife says I drink too much. What do you think?'

Good that it wasn't a poll or it'd be seriously lopsided.

I had that album when I was a kid, bought in a used record store. I think it had a gold border around the standard white cover. I never had a quad system, so I've never heard it properly. This will be interesting.

Great idea, the mono "Fun" wasn't included in either box set.
