a missed a show. Back-ish would be somewhere really high on the list of top watched comedies for ratings

Current US comedies I watch and regard highly include:

    Speechless,
    Silicon Valley,
    Veep,
    Brooklyn-99,
    The Other Place,
    Bojack Horseman,

    Master Of None,

Other comedies I enjoy but regard less highly:

    The Big Bang Theory,
    Superstore,
    The Middle,
    Kevin Can Wait,
    Superior Donuts

    There's a fair few of them I don't know. Brooklyn-99 is a favourite, though.

Chris from Chicago Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes

Regarding Last Man Standing...in spite of the always lovely Nancy Travis, I didn't care for it. I could care less what political affiliation an actor favors. Everyone is entitled to their own. That doesn't offend me. Know what does? An alleged comedy that isn't funny.

I'm not upset about any of this cancellations.
That Son of Zorn show was painful to watch. I was embarrassed for the actors, it was just terrible.

No, I shouldn't say what shows they are, since they're still on the air. They're much more educational/historical than that.

I wonder if there is some ruffled feathers (personalities) between Fox and ABC. Somebody insulted someone else and now it's kind of payback time. People were playing chicken, 'they wouldn't dare' and ABC did dare.

It's not so much that. It's that the networks now want to broadcast the shows and own the shows as well. When an outside studio makes the show, the network doesn't own all of the show. So in some cases, they're cancelling shows that don't make sense purely from an economic point of view.

Now I remember someone saying that that horrible sitcom that Kelly Ripa was in years ago was owned by the network so they were willing to put up with lower ratings because it was relatively cheap to produce.

And this is becoming a bigger and bigger factor these days due to streaming sales to other providers and for the in-house streaming platforms the networks want to develop (eg, CBS All Access).

I read somewhere (of course, now I can't find the link) that the contact between ABC and the production company had ABC picking up the the total production cost if the series made it to season 7.

I'm also guessing that ABC has already made committments to fill their schedule next season and LMS looked expendable if the profit margin wasn't that great.

I enjoyed this show. I hope it finds a new home.
