Steve, how are you? I like this new forum, except somebody beat me here, and they took my old DCC "name," which was just my first name. Those were the good ole' days. Seems like this site, and your new business(?) is going to be successful. Here are a few selections for you to consider--Thanks Steve. Oh, by the way, all on SACD if I had my choice! Nirvana "Nevermind" & "In Utero" (a 2-pack?) Radiohead "The Bends" The D.O.C. "No One Can Do It Better" (yeah, I'm SURE this one will be chosen!!)--actually, Dr. Dre "The Chronic" would be a better rap choice, if one's ever done! Bad Company "Bad Company" & "Straight Shooter" I'm sure I could come up with many more, but I'm very tired all of a sudden, so I'll just stick with the ones I have.
This one would be sweet. I've never liked the sound of the CD too much, but the music is incredible ... I've wondered about the "EMI Music Canada" LP that's available, but expense has prevented me from checking it out ... Anyway I'm sure Steve could do the definitive version of this powerful stuff.
Steve, so what do you say? I remember bringing this up on the old forum, and many people were interested.
Reply to Big Daddy Nirvana's In Utero and Nevermind were done on MFSL and were excellent- I would rather see Radiohead's stuff like the Bends. They should just hire Steve to do their initial mastering from now on. As far as reissues choices, I would like to know if any of The Doors Soft Parade made it out to the street and what happened to the Metallica Black Album? Also the DCC version of Van Halen is incredible- I purchased all the new remasters (HDCD) and they are horrible.
I have the MoFi Nirvana cd's, so I would agree--Radiohead is my top choice of that bunch, no question about it. Would love to see it on DVD or better yet, SACD.
Welcome Big Daddy, Just wondering if you are familiar with the Big Daddy band that records for Rhino. Great oldies/satire/rock band...did a completely hilarious cover album of Sgt. Pepper.
