Since this was announced,my first thought was don`t too much into anything Jimmy Page says until it`s official.

My gut is now telling me that this is going to be HTEWW. Page says how different it is compared to HTWWW and I think he's talking about the audience/vibe/atmosphere. The California shows have fanatics roaring and screaming(I was one in 77, don't judge me) but in Japan the audience is very low key and polite compared to North America crowds.

I miss the splice in the middle of the song :)

In all seriousness, it really does seem as though Japan '71 will play some role in the upcoming releases; whether as part of the 50th anniversary release or the 10 year (copyright?) plan.

The sample above sounds professionally mixed and mastered and quite different to the myriad of boot sources (inc. the commonly circulating 2nd gen tape). It does remind me of the sound of How The West Was Won but not as compressed. Also, I thought I detected some noise reduction in the sample but that could be Empress Valley's doing or even YouTube's. Regardless, I am excited about what's coming.

  7. Does anybody know if the HD edition is 24bit/96kHz or 24bit 44.1kHz?

24bit/96kHz on the download, the DVD and the Blu-ray. Sounds great!

it'll be a '68-'69 live album or maybe '70. since it is their 50th anniversary

About the only chance of that happening, probably, would be a more in depth Knebworth release than what we got on the 2003 DVD.

  12. How do you know this? Why '70? That's 48 years.

that'll do. if it's knebworth then it should be a dvd/bluray, because i know the footage is available. clean it up and give it to us.
